APPLICATION PROBLEMS

I filled in the application form long time ago, and haven't received any response from you... How long ago? If it was less then a week it may be that our application office was overloaded with applications and it's still among "pending" ones.
If, however, it was really long time ago (like more then two weeks, for instance, there can be at least two reasons for you not receiving either confirmation or refusal letter:
1) It may be that you either misspelled your e-mail address or haven't filled-in that field with proper data. If this is the case, there's nothing we can do about it, because there is no way to contact you.
Action: Wait for some time more (not longer then three weeks), and apply again.
2) It may be that you signed an e-mail address you're not checking regularely as your primary e-mail address. Lots of secretaries have a "hotmail" or "yahoo" web-based mail address and signed that one as primary, while the "normal" one was filled-in as secondary e-mail address. All the messages from CY application service and webmaster are sent to your primary e-mail address.
Action: Check the other mail addresses you have.

I am listed as a citizen/secretary, but I never got my username/password from you... Please check first on your Citizen IDCard (you will find it on the citizen list, and then clicking on your hyperlinked name) if you supplied the correct e-mail address.
If you listed your e-mail address as "visible" to the others, you'll find it as a hyperlink in the upper part of the page.
If your e-mail address is mistyped, then you need to write to webmaster. Please specify some more data that you filled in your application form, so that we can recognize you as a true citizen.
If your e-mail address was submitted correctly, then please go to "forgotten username/passwords page". Auto-responder will send you an e-mail message with your username/password combination. You need to know your Citizen ID (again, please find it on your IDCard page) and your primary e-mail address as registered with CY.

LOG-IN AND PASSPORT

I cannot log-in with username/password you sent me Please check your username/password combination again. Please pay attention to capitalization and "look alike" letters/numbers such as "l" and "I" or number "1" for instance.
If unsure, please copy/paste from the confirmation letter you got from "CY application service". Or from the letter you got from "lost my username/password" responder.

I lost my username/password.

I never got my username/password from you, and my name is listed...

Please go to "lost my username/password" autoresponder. It is located here.
You will need your Citizen ID number and your primary e-mail address (the one you registered in the original application form).
If you don't know your Citizen ID number, just go to citizen list page, find yourself on the list of citizens and click on your hyperlinked name. On your IDCard, somewhere on top of the page, you'll see your Citizen ID number.
Please note that this number is different then your passport number.
Also, if you are unsure which e-mail address you submitted as your primary address, maybe it is also on your page - if you marked it as "public" in your passport preferrences.

I cannot upload my picture. Why is that? You are probably on a Mac machine. Upload does not work entirely for Macs, so if this happens, please send your picture in proper format to webmaster (by e-mail here) and specify your passport number (you can find it on your main passport page, under the CY symbol), as well as your Absolute ID (you can see it on your IDCard page - in "web identity" part go to preview - under your name you'll find "Citizen ID", that's it) and your full Name/Last Name. Please do that from your registered primary reply address.
Please do the same if you for any other reason cannot upload your picture.

After I bookmark my passport page I cannot do any changes to my data. Why is this? Inner passport pages won't work if you don't log-in every time you start your browser session. When you bookmar a "personal" or "passport" page, and access it directly from your bookmark/favorites, you are actually bypassing the log-in page.
Please log-in every time you want to use your passport.
And please log-out every time you want to finish your passport session.
If you want to bookmark the passport page, do that on http://www.juga.com/passport before you log-in (or after you log-out). That's the only bookmark that will work with some sense.

I cannot receive my username/password from the auto-responder on "forgot my password" page You probably changed your e-mail address so that it is incorrect now, or points to an e-mail address that is no longer valid. Please contact webmaster and specify your current valid e-mail address (as well as your Citizen ID number).
When your e-mail address is invalid, there's nothing we can do, so please specify your correct e-mail address or inform us as soon as possible.

CITIZEN LISTING

How can I find another citizen / secretary in CY? Please go to citizen list page.
You may browse the citizen database at this point or search for a particular citizen.
If you're browsing, you have an option to choose how many records will be returned per a page. Please set this according to the speed of your connection.
If you're searching, please pay attention that the correct criteria/field name ("By") is chosen, and that you leave no extra spaces. Capitalization is not important here.

How come I don't see the "jump to page" drop down box always? Please use navigation from the page (page-links) instead of your browser back/forward buttons if this happens.
In general, when listing or searching the citizen database, you should use the navigation withing the web-page instead of browser built-in navigation.

CITIZEN IDCards

How can I use my IDCard as my web-page and send it's address to my friends.
First, you should fill-in some data on your IDCard from your passport page.
You may upload your picture, fill in some data about you (if you're familiar with HTML, you may also type in some HTML code there) and links to your sites and your favorite sites.
You can do this from the "Web Identity" part of your passport page.
Once you have the correct data on your IDCard you may send the link to it to anyone you want, and use it as your personal page.
There will be new elements to this personal page in the future. It will expand rapidly, and will include personal secretarial forums, additional pages, etc.

What is my IDCard web-address? Your IDCard web-address is composed in the following form:
[juga.com site] / idcard.asp?id= [your ID number]
so, IDCard of the webmaster, for instance is http://www.juga.com/idcard.asp?id=0
Just change the last number (after the equal sign) to your Citizen ID number and you'll have your IDCard web-address (URL).

Messaging System

How does this work?
General remarks.
Please read this first...
CY Messaging system is a closed system. It is not an e-mail system. When using it, you are not sending an e-mail to anyone, you are just contacting another citizen internally.
Because it is a closed system, it is very safe. No-one can ever intercept your message or read it instead of you. You can use this system for confidential messages.

In order for you to protect your privacy and avoid (among other things) someone else reading your messages, please log-out of your passport every time you finish working with it.

When logged in the passport, and using messaging, entire CY site becomes a bit different. Whenever you go to someone's IDCard page, you will have a new hyperlink - ADD THIS PERSON TO ADDRESS BOOK. This hyperlink will not be there if you're not logged in your passport, and not using messaging. So, when you want to add someone to your address book, you should locate that citizen (on the list page, or however) and click on "Add this person to address book". That person's data will be automatically placed in your Address Book.

Am I sending mail, or just a message? What's the difference? No, by using this system, you are not sending an e-mail message, you are sending a message through a closed messaging system.
Your messages sent through this system cannot be intercepted by anyone or anything. So, using this system gives you a very, very safe way of communication.
Format of this messages is an internal format. It is not MIME- or anything else- compliant. Messages can be read only within this system. However, soon there will be a utility for saving the messages locally in HTML and text formats.

How can I format messages? (HTML) It is not necessary to type in any HTML code, messages will be properly formatted anyway. If you wish to use HTML, you may type any HTML code on the "compose" screen that you wish, including the hyperlinks.
When using HTML, you may omit "<br>" and "<p>" tags - those will be inserted automatically after pressing the "enter" or "new line" key on your keyboard.

How can I add someone to address book? When logged in the passport, and using messaging, entire passport site becomes a bit different.

Adding a person to address book may be done directly like this:

  • On your main messaging page ("Read" section), when someone sends you a message, his/her name will be hyperlinked. If you follow this, you'll see that person's IDCard with an extra hyperlink on top of the page - "Add this person to address book". Click on this hyperlink to insert that person in your address book, or use your browser's back button to cancel.
  • When reading a message from someone, you will be presented with the option to add that person to address book. After clicking "Add to address book" you will be transferred to his/her IDCard page, to check if that's the person you wish to add. If that is the person you wish to add, click on the large "Add to address book" link on top of the page, and citizen's data will be automatically transferred to your address book.
  • When in "Address book" section of messaging, click on "Add New Contact" hyperlink. System will transfer you to the CY list/search page. It appears the same as usually, but after performing a search or listing, and after clicking on the citizen's name (to see his/her IDCard), you will have the extra "Add to address book" hyperlink, which is normally not present. Click on it and you will return to your address book with that citizen's data automatically transferred.

Will anyone see the comments I made on entries in my address book. No, never. It is your private section, and you may type in any comments without fear that anyone will ever see it.

Why messaging system? Why do we need it?
  1. Messaging system is completely internal, propriatory to CY and much safer then "standard" e-mail system. Your messages cannot be intercepted by anyone (inside or outside of CY). Whenever sending a message to another citizen/secretary, you can be confident that the recipient will be the only one to read it!
  2. Messaging system is just one part of the whole CY system. As site continues to build, it will be much more obvious how messaging is integrated with other functions (still to come) s.a. Forums, Discussions, National Assembly, etc.

Will this system be expanded? Yes, there will be a lot of improvements in the "next generation" of messaging system. Now it is anticipated that it will contain following additional elements:
  • Options (for preconfiguring messaging preferences)
  • Save sent items. Save deleted items in Trashcan. Auto-erase deleted items, etc.
  • Add pictures to your messages.
  • Add other binary attachments to your messages.
  • Read POP / Send SMTP messages to external recipients.

And many more...

Online Notebook / HTML Editor...

Why online notebook? Because it's quite convinient to keep your documents online, accessible from anywhere.
You need nothing else then your browser and your CY username/password to access and edit your documents online.
Editor is planned to be expanded a lot (with some HTML editing features and quite a few options for customizing display and editing screens.
Right now, it's a kind of an online "notebook" application with auto-HTML formatting features.
You may add the HTML code yourself in the edit fields if you wish and if you're familiar with it.

Yahoo Notepad is the only online tool like this and it will allow you 5K text.
CY Notepad allows 64K.

How do I create a new document? When you start your CY Notepad for the first time, it is empty.
Creating a new document is easy and direct.
Just type in the title of the new document to be created in the "New" field and click "Open/Create" button. You'll be transferred to the edit screen immediately.

If you decide to save your new document, you have to do that by clicking on "Save Changes" button. If you choose any other action, you are cancelling the creation of the new document.

You may choose any title you wish (up to 255 characters). Spaces are allowed.

Whenever there is something typed in the "New" field on your main notepad screen that signals the engine to create a new document. If you wish to edit existing document, select it from the drop-down box "Editor" and click "Open/Create" button. Make sure your "New" field is empty in that case.

Viewing documents. All the created documents are listed on your main CY Notepad screen.
To view a document, just click on it's title.
Once within the viewer, you may choose to switch to the "edit" mode. Do that by clicking on "Edit Text" link on top of the page.
On the right-hand side of the title there is an indication of the date you last edited your text online.

Editing documents. To jump directly to the editing mode, you may select the title of your document from the "Editor" drop-down box on the main Notepad screen and click "Open/Create" button.
Alternative - you may choose "Edit Text" link from the viewing page.

Once within the editor, you have several basic options:

  • To rename the document by changing it's title in the "Text Title" field
  • To edit the body of the document in the large text field
  • To save changes, reset to last saved or delete the active document.

In the body of the document it is allowed to type in HTML tags, including hyperlinks.

You have to click on "Save changes" button to save your last edit, otherwise it is reset to the last saved version when you enter the edit mode again on the same document (or view it).

Renaming documents. To rename the document, first enter the "edit" page by either selecting the title from the drop-down box "Editor" on the main Notepad screen, or by clicking "Edit Text" on the viewer page.
Once within the editor, just change the title in "Text Title" edit-box and click on "Save changes button".

Deleting documents. Documents are deleted only within the "edit" page.
After selecting "Delete this doc" button, document will be deleted immediately (no undo) and you'll be transferred to the main Notepad page to choose another document to edit or create.

Restrictions and conventions. There are no restrictions as regarding to what you may type in the body of the document.
If you're familiar with HTML, you may type in the HTML code directly. This will give you a lots of nice formatting options. Don't add "<br>", let the viewer format your text whenever it comes accross the new line.
If you're just typing the text, it will be HTML formatted anyway, in "sans-serif" type, size 10 (pixels) or 2 (HTML chars), and <br> will be added automatically at the end of every line. So, typing the ENTER has the same effect as typing the <br> in HTML.

Why is the page so simple? Viewer page is kept as simple as possible because of printing. There are as less as possible extra headers. Only the basic links on top of the page.
If you don't see why now, once you wish to print your online Notebook page from the browser, you'll understand.

Will the editor be expanded? Yes, there are a lots of features to be added such as:
  • "Publish this document on my ID Card page" feature.
  • HTML tags insertion (making an online HTML editor out of CY Notepad)
  • Online spell-checking.
  • Connection with CY Calendar (in construction)

etc.

Requirements, Browser, OS, Cookies, etc.

What kind of browser/OS do I need to access all the parts of Juga.com site?
You can access all the parts, including your personal passport page with any browser supporting cookies. This means that almost any browser will do.
OS issue is not important here.
We do have reports of non-Windows users being unable to upload pictures on their personal passport pages, but that's about all for now, and easily solvable by sending the picture to webmaster.
For the rest - server is sending pure HTML to your browser. Everything is generated through server-side scripts, so your browser gets a pretty clean stream of data.
We are suggesting the usage of any Browser of 4th generation at least (IE4 or Netscape4, or better). It's free, so download now if you don't have it.

Why do I need session cookies enabled for my passport page?

What is a "session cookie"?

Because your login information is stored in a session cookie. This is a way of protecting your personal information. When you log-in your passport page, a "session cookie" is generated. This is a cookie that is not written to your disk, but kept in the memory (RAM) of your computer. It serves as your certificate during the session you're having in your CY passport. Always use "log-out" option from your CY passport to clear (destroy) the "session cookie". If (for any reason in some browsers) this doesn't work, close your browser and re-open it. This way a "session cookie" is definitely destroyed.

Where do I enable "session cookies" in my browser? Microsoft Internet Explorer users:
Browser menu option: Tools / Internet Options / Security / Custom Level
Netscape users:
Browser menu option: Edit / Preferences / Advanced
